Professor Peter Høj AC is the Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Adelaide. He has extensive leadership experience, including as Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Queensland (2012 – 2020) and the University of South Australia (2007 – 2012).
Peter has long advocated for gender equity and inclusion in higher education. He has previously been a member of ‘Male Champions of Change in STEM’, as well as the Human Rights Commission’s Leadership Council on Cultural Diversity. He is committed to building organisational cultures that foster equality and grow the pipeline to improve gender balance.
Educated at the University of Copenhagen, Professor Høj has an MSc, PhD, and five honorary doctorates. In 2019 he was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) in recognition of his eminent service to higher education and to science, particularly to the commercialisation of research, and to policy development and reform.
